First off, our bartender Alex was amazing! She helped us with local recommendations and was the perfect amount of helpful and sweet while also being great at her job. So kudos to her. The BBQ burger was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. My boyfriend got the Octoberfest beer which was a great amber beer and I got the Honey Goddess which was perfect for me. It was sweet but not too sweet. I would absolutely go back if we come back into town. The entire building was beautiful as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The Old Fort Hillman is one of the last places I went out to before Helene. I am so glad to see they're serving their drinks again. I am not much of a beer person and had their in house seltzer which I really liked. Fruity and sweet but not too overwhelming. I did not get a picture of our food because we at it so fast but the burgers are fantastic. Order at the bar service which I love. Also such great seating out on their patio. I can't wait for Old Fort to recoup after this storm.
Love everything EXCEPT... the dogs. Actually, I love the dogs but their humans are clueless about a nice dining experience. Taking one star off because the brewery has guidelines- which they do not enforce, at least I've never seen them ask an owner to control their pet or take them to the patio. Anyway, love the food, love the beer, love the ambiance. We come here often just don't appreciate barking dogs.
Great vibe along a running brook, their Ruben was one of the best my wife and I ever had and their 5% Ginger beer makes me want to go back for it again next week...unfortunately we live 12 hrs away.
